Sedona Devil's Bridge Hike —
After spending the beginning of our trip with Alex’s grandparents exploring Phoenix and the surrounding area, we set our sites on the northern part of Arizona. This trip, we decided to hike Devil’s Bridge, a stunning nature-made bridge. I hope you enjoy these photos!

Apartment Adventures —
Alex and I are lucky to live in a really cute neighborhood where we have a running trail behind our apartment! We go on daily walks and appreciate the flowers and mountins we get to see everyday. Our complex also has flowers planted throughout the courtyards, and it’s nice to walk around and find a nice niche to sit down and read in.
Spring Flowers —
Throughout my journey learning photography, I have been drawn to flowers time and time again. While at Frogs Leap Vineyard up in Napa, I was drawn to the beautiful garden we were able to walk around while enjoying our wine. I hope you enjoy these flowers! I’m eventually going to have to do one big album encompassing all my flower photos of the year.

Embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf —
One of the best parts of living in California is that people actually want to come visit you! One of my best friends from Purdue, Rachael, came for a visit in March and we went into San Francisco to do all the touristy things. We went to The Exploratorium, saw the Golden Gate Bridge, and watched the Sea Lions at the pier by Fisherman’s Wharf. Now I need to return the favor and visit her in Cleveland!
Windy Hill Open Space Preserve —
Now that the weather is getting better, it’s time to start hiking again! The Windy Hill Open Space Preserve gives us great views of the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. This hike was a great excuse to play with my new lens and enjoy gorgeous weather in February! Enjoy!

North Conway, NH —
For Christmas, I got a new camera lens that has INSANE zoom capability. (Blog post to follow on the lens). I figured to christen it, I would take some photos in North Conway NH. I was several miles away from Mount Cranmore when I got these shots, if that gives you an idea on the zoom and stability of the lens. I hope you enjoy!
Good Boy Fritz —
In December 2016, my family got a German Shepherd puppy named Fritz. Now that he’s older and a little less insane, I can take pictures of him on my camera without him trying to eat it. I’ll try to get more pictures of him soon!
Museum of Ice Cream —
Before Finals this year, Uma and I went to the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco! We didn’t know what to expect, and it definitely did not disappoint! We tried all sorts of ice creams, enjoyed the scenery in each room, and even got to play in a pool of sprinklers! Unfortunately I took more photos on my phone because of the nature of the place, but enjoy the ones I took on my camera!
Sedona and Joshua Tree —
While in Arizona, Alex and I made a trip up to Sedona to do some hiking. We decided on the Airport Plateau, which has amazing views from all directions. During this trip, I also got to play with my Neutral Density Filters, which allowed me to take some pretty cool shots (until Alex dropped the lens cover). On the drive home from Arizona, we decided to stop at Joshua Tree National Park.
Desert Botanical Garden —
In November, Alex and I went out to Arizona to visit his Grandparents. While we were visiting, they took us to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. Being from the East Coast and having minimum exposure to any sort of desert, it was really cool to see all the different cacti and flowers that flourish in the arid environment. I also did not know that Roadrunners are actually real birds, so it was neat to take pictures of them and see them in person.
Golden Gate Bridge —
Those of you who live in the Bay Area or are familiar with it know what a blessing it is when Carl the Fog is not covering the Golden Gate Bridge. One day after a group meeting at SF State, I figured I’d try my luck at getting some photos from Bakers Beach of the famed bridge. I had just enough luck on my side and ended up with a gorgeous day and an essentially empty beach.
Day in the Park —
Even though we’ve been out here for a few years, Alex and I are still exploring new parts of San Jose. A few weekends back, we happened upon a cute neighborhood park near the foothills. Living in the valley and getting to see the way the sun plays with the foothills everyday has never gotten old living here. While we were taking pictures, we ran into a woman with three adorable dogs.
Opus One Winery —
Opus One is a wine I’ve been drinking since turning 21 at family events (it’s one of my Uncle Bob’s favorite!). Because of the vineyard’s beauty and the family drinking connection, my mom got Alex and I a tasting here! Every sip of the wine was an experience by itself and the visual beauty was the icing on the birthday cake.
Hall Winery —
My favorite winery of all time is Hall Winery. As a red wine fan, their Cabernets are incredible and every sip makes you want to take another and another. This was the last winery we visited on my birthday, and we definitely saved the best for last. We currently have two bottles that we need to drink from here at home, but I think we’re going to save them for a special occasion.
Castello Di Amorosa —
For my birthday, Alex took me to Castello Di Amorsa in Calistoga, CA. Designed after historical Tuscan castles, the castle has everything from parapets, a dungeon, and of course wine tasting rooms. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Labor Day at Andretti Winery, Napa California —
On Labor Day, Alex and I went to Andretti Winery for a Date Day. While there, we got to get up close and personal with the grapes and even got to try wine straight out of the barrel. I hope you enjoy these pictures and more pictures from Napa will be posted after my birthday!
Davenport Beach —
Over labor day weekend, Alex, our friends, and I went down Highway 1 to Davenport Beach. The only way down to the water is crossing a train track and down a bit of a cliff, but as you can see, it is definitely worth it. Being at Davenport Beach was a great way to end the summer.
Dog at Carmelite Monastery —
While on my photography adventure, I ran into this cute dog and his walker out on an adventure of their own. The dog happily posed for the camera and I was able to get some action shots too!
Carmelite Monastery —
Carmelite Monastery in Santa Clara, California. While I walked around the grounds, I was in awe of how beautiful and peaceful it was. I was drawn right away to the garden and to the Olive Tree grove. I hope you enjoy these pictures!
